Bible-Related Works at Oxford University Press Free This Week

Oxford University Press: "To celebrate National Library Week (April 13th – 19th 2014) and all the hard work librarians do to support their patrons, OUP is freeing up our entire list of online products for one week only!"

UPDATE (4/16): OUP is *not* making available most of the titles listed here. Therefore we have deleted the previous contents of this post. We’re sorry. (See comments below for a reply from OUP.)

  • I am able to sign in with the password but some of the resources have a lock symbol. They say that all resources are to be available, with the exception of journals. I know too that when I'm on the college campus network, I'm automatically logged in with the school credentials and no resources are available.

  • TOdd,
I too have been trying to one of the resources listed above since 13 April. I found out today that only some are available. Here's the email back from OUP:

The title The Oxford Encyclopedia of Archaeology in the Near East is part of Oxford’s Reference Library platform. These titles are not available as part of the Library Week preview.

Oxford Quick Reference which is hosted on the Oxford Reference platform is available during the preview.

  • Dennis,
Thanks for checking on this. It certainly contradicts what OUP is advertising:
"To celebrate National Library Week (April 13th – 19th 2014) and all the hard work librarians do to support their patrons, OUP is freeing up our entire list of online products for one week only!"

Thanks again. I will update the post accordingly.
