But nothing in the Bible indicates that Mary Magdalene anointed Jesus' feet.  I don't think this identification is impossible, but as I mentioned above, Luke's introduction of Mary in 8:2 makes this unlikely.  Rather than write an article that says that we found the perfume bottles that Mary used to anoint Jesus' feet, it would be more responsible to say that we found perfume bottles from the hometown of Mary Magdalene.
