On the 18th he will give an hour-long talk at <A HREF="http://www.fas.harvard.edu/~semitic/" REL="nofollow">Harvard Semitic Museum</A>, and on the 20th a 15-minute talk at ASOR. I think it is unlikely that "Bethany beyond the Jordan" is located near Jericho. I would guess that they're just taking the time they feel they need.
